LOST: "The Candidates" and "Across the Sea"

May 18, 2010 23:03

I cried, audibly, over the final moments of Jin and Sun. They just reunited! They have a baby, you turds! The only thing that makes me kind of fine with their deaths is the theory that is floating around (that I've decided makes the most sense) that the alternate universe is actually the real world, and the island universe is just a metaphor for good and evil to be played out to completion, i.e. until Jack becomes whatever Jacob was and everyone else is dead/gone. See, since we have Desmond setting things right in the AU, everything will be okay, and we don't really have to worry about that whole ugly island mess. We don't! This AU = real world theory also fits in with Juliet's ghost message, "It worked."

Speaking of ugly, though, you know who isn't? Mark Pellegrino. (He was in an episode of The X-Files, apparently, which I now need to go find and watch immediately.) Gosh, he's lovely, and he did a brilliant job of making Jacob sympathetic in "Across the Sea", which, I have to say, was quite the feat, because it kind of felt like we were maybe supposed to be rooting for Team Man in Black there. I still don't really understand what happened when MiB went into the light, though. Is he still Jacob's brother, or has he become something else completely? Is he a personification of evil taking Jacob's brother's shape? Clarification, I need some.

Also, why is Kate invincible, and where the hell is Richard?

We got a new washing machine today! It is glorious! I will be washing clothes for days in a state of utter bliss!

Oh, one more thought before I go: Will Schuester/Bryan Ryan fic. If someone is writing it, I need to know.

shipping, lost, ho-yay!, i was born a blonde, mark pellegrino, life, slash, glee, telly, random
