Born to Run

All right, now that the dust has settled a bit, I think I finally have a few semi-coherent things to say about The Sarah Connor Chronicles finale.

I am choosing to believe, because my head hurts less that way, that this new timeline is, in fact, The Actual Future. The Beginning, if you will. John Connor survives Judgement Day because he time-hops over it, and everything follows from there. Perhaps if FOX decides to grant the show a third season my theory will be proven wrong, but, for the time being, there it is. (I am not particularly well-versed in all the Terminator mythology, either, so if I'm way off base here, illumination is always appreciated.)

The change in Cameron's demeanour (if I may call it that) when Ellison delivered the "Will you join us?" message from Weaver suggests to me that she knew all along what she was planning on doing when she went in to see John Henry. Did John Henry have to travel to the future because Skynet was after him? This remains unclear. Um, to me at least.

I LOVE THIS SHOW SO DAMN MUCH AND NEED SEASONS ONE AND TWO ON DVD ASAP.

Awesomeness:
- Confirmation that there are indeed two warring metal factions. Weaver has been trying to stop Skynet all along. Is she the T-1000 from the Jesse flash-forward, I wonder..but didn't that one say the answer (to "Will you join us?") was no? Loved Weaver's, "I would watch who you're calling a bitch" comeback to Sarah.

- Cameron having John check her for damage. This read to me as both doubt on her own part - (she knows she has had glitches in the past), as well as her own need for John to trust and believe in her. Also, John is obviously in love with Cameron, in spite of the fact that he knows he should not be. His reaction when he realized her chip was gone, when he realized the girl in the future was not Cameron, the repeated "I'm sorry John"s on the monitor. *wibbles* This show, this show, this f#@king show. Melodramatic fangirl statement: an episode should not be able to break my heart and my brain all at once, and yet, there it is. Season three, if it ever happens, must include plenty of Allison and John interaction. Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau are just too dynamic (and pretty) together.

- The little glimpse we got of the future. Derek and Kyle Reese, and Allison ZOMG.

Dollhouse.
- Holy crap, Adelle is a client of the Dollhouse. Some questionable ethics at work there, but we already knew that. I ♥ her, anyhow.

- I'm bummed out about Boyd no longer acting as Echo's handler. (He looked so crestfallen in the "Echo & her new handler" scene!) However, if his new position as Head of Security means we get to see more of him, I'm all for the change.
