HOCAKES

Mar 19, 2008 17:05

At the supermarket last night I had to pass by the massive WALL of Easter candy at the entrance, and I managed, but not without a second glance at the gumdrops in spring-themed shapes and bunny corn. Now all I have to do is practise refusing a slice of lemon meringue pie from my well-intentioned, "What do you mean - you gotta have dessert!" grandmother.

I made two versions of banana bread today, for company - one with cinnamon & nutmeg, and one with chocolate chips. Both are gorgeous, yes indeed.

Paula Deen is making ho-cakes. Ha ha *is immature*

In news not having to do with food, it turns out I will be getting a good chunk of income tax money back this year. Woe is me, what ever shall I do with my newfound wealth? I want to invest some of it for Abi, but I've been thinking of using the rest to buy a shiny new Inspiron laptop. (I'm a fan of the sunshine yellow.) I have to get over my mommy guilt first though, because there isn't anything particularly wrong with my current machine, beyond it being a little slow and the fact that when I tell it to restart it merely shuts down and stays that way. Disobedient, this toppy, but I do still love it so. We'll see, anyway.

Last but not least, despite the fact that I have ten pounds to go before I am pre-preg weight, I somehow fit into my size seven pre-preg pants. They're even a bit loose around the hips. Cool beans.

ETA: Okay, this post is boring; thus, I give you Adrien Brody & a puppy, omgsocute.
