glitter is the herpes of craft supplies

Some beautiful soul uploaded Demetri Martin's one hour Comedy Central special, Demetri Martin. Person., onto YouTube. The special was supposed to be re-aired(?) on CC this past Sunday at 10 PM (EST), I believe, and yet it was not. In its place was a different special, featuring this mildly obnoxious (in my opinion, of course; funny is subjective) fellow named Graham something-or-other. Anyway, as for the special that I actually wanted to watch, there was some recycling of old material, but it's all good in my book. The special was fresh and funny. Demetri has this way about him on-stage. He's subdued, yet hyperactive, delivering one-liners in his characteristic deadpan at one moment and skittering back and forth to "see how quick the spotlight guy is" at another. I find him charming & clever. Also, I don't care what he says: I love his "Gay Beatle" haircut.

In case you're interested:
Part 1 of 5
Part 2 of 5
Part 3 of 5
Part 4 of 5
Part 5 of 5

some of my favourite parts!
(in no particular order)
(1) the cuteness of girl vs. willingness to hear her talk about how intuitive her cat is chart.

(2) the picture of skull & crossbones, when he was alive. (I personally think the work he does on the "large pad" and his art are the strongest parts of his routine. He should write/illustrate a book Heck, he should write/illustrate several. Perhaps he has done this already and I am merely uninformed.)

(3) "My policy is No rock throwing regardless of housing situation." Exception: if you are trapped in a glass house.

(4) "I love unnecessary bells."

(5) The elaborate attempt to look cool while retrieving his harmonica from the piano.

(6) "Glitter is the herpes of craft supplies."

Today I:
- dusted the shelves/coffee table
- did a few loads of laundry
- baked banana bread and chocolate chip cookies
- reviewed Units 1 & 2 on the ASL video-text (It's a made-before-the-motherfucking-Wall-fell VHS tape and I have to stop and rewind a lot because everybody signs too fast for my slow hearing person's brain, so I keep thinking it's going to crap out at any second. It makes these ominous clicking, putt-putt-puttering noises every now and then.)

I feel accomplished. :)
