selectively/hopefully superstitious

I finally applied for that Fermilab science writing internship, just last night. Ugh, I hate cover letters. The idea that you should have to write about why you're 200% certain that you're better than everyone else just feels so tacky, so very very wrong. It just makes me want to stare at my own two feet for what feels worse than that Catholic shame you feel in your adolescent years; you know, when you think you'll forever burn in hell for touching yourself because they said so, but you have these thoughts and you can't help but... ugh, but I digress. Anyhow, I just hope I get noticed. At the very least a call back from a recruiter just to say "you suck" would suffice, 'cause it blows not to ever hear back about these things.

So yeah, sent my e-resume in last night. Then this morning I decided that on my way to work that I'd get a bento box at that nice little spot next to home. Today I looked at the fortune in my fortune cookie, which says...

Remember three months from this date. Good things are in store for you.

Well, as it turns out, that's roughly when the science writing internship starts. Normally I'm not so superstitious that I'd let something like this excite me to any degree; then again, I kind want to with regards to this.
