my Oscar picks

Okay, so the 80th Academy Awards are about to start, here are my picks of who I think who should/might win:

Best Motion Picture Of The Year: "There Will Be Blood"
-great film BTW, definitely deserves it

Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role: Daniel Day-Lewis "There Will Be Blood"
-why not, he was nominated for "Gangs of New York" but hasn't won an Oscar since "My Left Foot", it's about time he got some recognition

Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role: Javier Bardem "No Country For Old Men"
-he was the best part about the film, and he did a damn good job, no surprise if he wins this

Performance By An Actress In A Leading Role: Cate Blanchett "Elizabeth: the Golden Age"
-I've not seen any movies up for these awards, but I'm guessing Cate Blanchett 'cause she didn't get an Oscar for the first Elizabeth, and this new one is supposed good

Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role: Cate Blanchett "I'm Not There"
-heck, I'll just assume this is a Cate Blanchett year

Best Animated Feature Film Of The Year: "Persepolis"
-wow, I can't believe this got nominated, and I've wanted to see this but haven't, but it was very well received by critics all around, got a 97% of RottenTomatoes, plus I feel a film as profound as this should win above those run-of-the-mill family pieces... plus I'm a quasi fan of the comics

Achievement In Art Direction: Sweeney Todd
-I'm just guessing, but I think "Sweeney Todd" will win, just because it's a Tim Burton film, but I haven't seen it

Achievement In Cinematography: "There Will Be Blood"
-this film was shot really well, I wouldn't be surprised if it won

Achievement In Costume Design: "Elizabeth: The Golden Age"
-anyone that can make Cate Blanchett look like a historical joke should get recognition... or maybe that'll go to Sweeney Todd

Achievement In Directing: "There Will Be Blood"
-Paul Thomas Anderson is an awesome director, and he deserves this award, I mean, he did "Boogy Nights", "Magnolia", and "Punch Drunk Love"; need I say more

Best Documentary Feature: "Sicko"
-come on, Michael Moore needs another chance to go up on stage and get booed for saying what needs to be said, and if there's any Oscar I'm hoping for the most, it'd be this one

Best Documentary Short Subject:
-umm, skip, I've know nothing about the nominations

Achievement In Film Editing:
-umm, I skip this one too, but I definitely think it SHOULD NOT go to "Bourne Ultimatum", as it had some bad editing... well, not bad, but it definitely relied to heavily on editing for what they refused to shoot right the first time, it's like some turn of the century tactic

Best Foreign Language Film Of The Year:
-skip, have not seen or heard about any of these

Achievement In Makeup: "Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End"
-just a guess, but there's a lot of walking dead folk in these films, so...

Achievement In Music Written For Motion Pictures (Score): "Ratatouille"
-well, if "Ratatouille" doesn't get the animated film award, I'm guessing it'll get this

Achievement In Music Written For Motion Pictures (Song):
-ah, who cares

okay, I could not really give a crap at the other awards, even though there's some good ones on the list, the show already started
