So hey, I finally got to the part of Final Fantasy XIII where I'm allowed to choose my party.
It only took completing 2/3 of the damn game.
Still not completely hating it, though I can see so many points where they went wrong. Like now I'm actually allowed to choose what class/class skills my characters can have, except that you know, because I'm 2/3 of the way into the game, I'm already invested heavily in the classes they already have. Why would I make Hope a Commando when he's already an excellent Medic, or Sazh a Saboteur when he's a fantastic Synergist? I guess I do it to buy the stat increases, but man is it just really, really frustrating.
I'm just going to plow through it; then make a decision as to whether I'm going to try the sequels or just say "fuck it." I never played Final Fantasy X-2, and thank god for that. I'm also still (technically) playing Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, but I'm not really enjoying it. Some of the boards are really frustrating and it just feels so arbitrary with too many pieces out of my control, but ultimately the story isn't grabbing me, probably because it makes very little sense.
Recently finished Portal 2; that was pretty, pretty awesome. There's not much I can say about it that hasn't been said before. Listening to the soundtrack this week has got me remembering how incredibly creepy the game was, which I suppose I didn't think about too much since I was working on solving the puzzles.
