The Wizarding World of Comics

For all the bile people spew at Wizard Magazine, especially in the '90s when they were seen as the embodiment of the speculator boom and frat boy mentality, I'd like to point out something personal.

This is a list of comics I was introduced to by Wizard, because there were feature articles or reviews or just brief write-ups that made them sound interesting enough to check out:

  • James Robinson's Starman
  • Mark Waid's Flash
  • Angela by Neil Gaiman
  • Ghost in the Shell
  • Sanctuary by Sho Fumimura
  • Warren Ellis' Stormwatch
  • Scud: The Disposable Assassin
  • Eagle by Kaiji Kawaguchi

Probably also Bendis' Alias, because I can't, for the life of me, remember why I would have picked that up back in the day.

All-in-all, that's actually... a pretty good list of titles. So thanks, Wizard, for not being even close to as bad as people say you were. Thanks for being outright decent sometimes.
