No H1N1 at C2E2 (that's so last year)

Oh hell, I haven't made a real post in almost a month. My last post was from PAX East. Which makes it mildly funny that I came on here with intentions to post about C2E2 (or, properly, C2E2). Which is another show from Reed Exhibitions, or at least the division now known as ReedPop. As I attend New York Comic Con, New York Anime Fest, PAX East, and C2E2, I think it is fair to say I am now Reed's bitch. To complete the set all I need is Star Wars Celebration and... UFC Fan Expo?

Again, PAX East went really well, and I'm definitely going again next year. Probably never going to Anime Boston ever again. I'm also considering going to PAX "Prime" this fall, in lieu of San Diego Comic-Con since as much fun as that con can be, the cost and hassle are killing me and we haven't even heard back about a hotel room.

It looks like Reed will be running PAX Prime from now on, which is actually a positive development considered how well people responded to C2E2. It was a magical fairyland of brightly lit halls, wide aisles, panels that started on time, and polite volunteers.

No really, it was awesome.

Aside from the con, we also went to a Cubs game (they won!), visited the Museum of Science and Industry, ate deep dish at two different places, had hot dogs, and caught a show at Second City (with Gail Simone and her husband!).

At the con, I bothered people from both DC and Marvel about job things (no dice), attended several DC and Marvel panels, did not get into a fight about the Holocaust with Peter David (he brought it up, not me), got piles and piles of free comics, and oh yeah, bought limited edition figures for my cousin eBay. I felt like such a schmo walking around the convention center with them considering I was complaining about not having a job and trying to save money...

I also have a great appreciation for Chicago transportation, having taken the L, the bus, and even the Metra. Also they had con shuttles which had the same pick up point as the Kitchen & Bath Expo, which was taking place in the other hall at McCormick Place. So there was that little adventure too.

I'll be posting the pictures soon, though you really should bug i_am_scifi since he took most of them, as my camera is a piece of crap that is getting replaced once I have a new job. So many things to replace. Sigh.

So, who hasn't seen Kick Ass yet? That's the problem with being at a con, you lose sight of the outside world, both nerdy and non-nerdy. Volcanic ash? Really?
