The party went very well, after a few obstructions. No one ever uses the garden, however, it just so happened there was a 21st bday party going on there last night, too. It was funny but it all worked out. They had decorations, dj and we had people :p I think people showed up after we went upstairs, but there were maybe 10 people they had there while we were outside. We had fun, anyhow. Some of the kids were all passive agressive about us being out there, but we were out of their hair soon enough, and we even gave them some food. Funny enough they came up asking if they could have some chicken and whatnot.
My ability to cook meat and fish without even being able to taste how it turns out is still running true. I marinated the chicken in a lime, garlic, spices, chipotle mixture I put together and people were raving about it. I offered grilled white snapper with the cilantro lime chili sauce as tacos and people loved that. The guac was popular, as usual, as was the salsa. Dan, Rachael's bf, stopped at East Village Cheese for us and picked up some lovely cheeses that people appreciated. Rach's lox and cucumber thing and the devilled eggs got taken.
I had a so-so time, as I had a lot of work to do yesterday for it. Then I ended up manning the grills most of the time because not many people wanted to help. Sadly, when I do that much work I just lose my appetite and I didn't eat anything last night. I drank beer, but that's about it... All day I had a slice I grabbed while out running errands. I hate when I do that. It makes me feel all funky the next day because my blood sugar is all wonky due to no eating and then drinking.
Had fun, I suppose, but I don't want to do that much work for the next party. I want to enjoy it like Rach did. Maybe next time not a bbq, just some snacks and booze. Yep, sounds good to me!
