So, walking out of my building today, I ran into one of my downstairs neighbors. He told me something had happened outside of our building last night this morning. I got home a bit before 4am, taking a taxi instead of walking, for some reason. This morning (around 6ish) I woke up to some wierd shhhh shhhh shhhh sounds that I originally thought were my heater/water heater fucking up. I realized it was outside, and being half out of it, went back to sleep.
Yeah.
Body found in Downtown Jersey City
Investigators are releasing more information about a dead body found on ***** Street in Downtown Jersey City early this morning.
Police said the body was found before dawn sprawled between two parked cars in front of a ***** Street business, between Jersey Avenue and Varick Street. The man's name hasn't been released, but police said he appeared to be in his 30s and is a resident of Newark.
Initial reports were that the man had been shot; now investigators say he had multiple injuries and they aren't sure how he died.
An employee of R&W Distribution at ** ***** St. said he arrived at work around 7:30 a.m. and saw police cars and a fire engine. He was told the body, which had been splayed in the street, had been removed about a half-hour earlier. He watched as firefighters washed away the pool of blood on the street.
A resident said she saw police cars on the street as early as 5 a.m.
