Blood, sweat and milk. No, literally. I mean it.

I had my TaeKwonDo promotion exam today. Yesterday I went to the school in the afternoon to help with the junior's/teens testing. We went to dinner afterwards, but I didn't get home until 10ish. Then I had a drink at the Embankment. Got up early, went to the school at 9 to help with the little dragons and juniors testing, then had my test at 12:30. Well, as I hadn't had breakfast, and the test is physically grueling, I got a Muscle Milk. I got a root beer float flavor, and wow, it was just horrible. I got through half of it, grimacing every time, until I found...well, I found, a clot. I turned the bottle and realized it had expired early April. Holy crap. Drinking bad dairy product right before a 2.5 hour physical test in a very hot room. Okay, I can do this.

Early in the test, during a springing front kick drill, (you jump with both feet in the air, and snap your back foot forward to kick head-high or higher) my big toe caught in the mat. Well, I should say, my big toenail did. It ripped part of it off the bed, and split partway down the middle. Of course we were in the middle of a speed drill, where you have to do as many of those as you can in 15 seconds. Totally slowed me down during that drill, but did it. Then the rest of the test my stomach was a bit uneasy, and every time I kicked with my left foot, I'd hit it a little. Then when kicking with my right foot, I'd have to pivot on the left and that put pressure on the toe, too.

I ignored the pain for the most part, and forgot about it. Until after the test when we bow to each other and shake hands and I happened to look down and see blood oozing out from under my nail again. Too funny.

I passed though!!
