on the job

so I've started this construction job and oddly enough, if you stalk back to LAST september, I wrote about wanting to study carpentry or something. it's taken me a year to complete this task but I've finally done it and I'm loving it. you can see photo's of said job somewhere on facebook.

but I've noticed something.

all of the tools we use are named after animals. like, I was digging with a "cougar" shovel the other day. and using a "python" pick axe.

this seems really quite silly to me because how am I supposed to trust the strength of a cougar when i have absolutely no concrete evidence in my life that would support it being strong? except for the movies ofcourse and that "Planet Earth" series. but really. come on.

if my shovel were called "black belt karate" or "steel" or "bouncer of 15 years" I would be like, hell yeah, pass me that freakin shovel!

but a cougar? no thanks.
