Lainy here, signing in! We have arrived, and we are sleepy. We didn't get much sleep on the plane, which, by the way, had super fun entertainment options, and our internal clocks are still on Australian time. We checked into our first location and snoozed a little bit after a quick lunch, but we have forced ourselves to wake up so we can get our snoozy-times to the right (local) times. However, for all our best intentions in doing so, we are little more then zombies at the moment, so fogive me if this entry is a little scattered.
First impressions! There was a little more cloud than expected, hope that clears up for fireworks. Because, hey, its the 4th of July! Debate is currently waging in our room whether we want to venture out into the streets after dark to see the fireworks down the road, or if we want to play it safe (and lazy) and watch the fireworks on tv.
There is no sound to alert pedestrians to cross at traffic lights. Its weird. Not something I ever thought about, but its weird to walk across silent lights. Also, the cars come from different directions! I knew that Americans drove on the other side of the road, but its one thing to know that, and another to have to change years and years of crossing-roads conditioning and check the wrong way for traffic. So bizarre.
We have been flicking through the tv channels like crazy. There are a lot of ads for different kind of pills. Teeth whitening pills, asperins that stop heart attacks (that was a weird one), anti-aging pills, viagra, you name it, they seem to have a drug for it. The infomericals are HILARIOUS.
We stay here in the Haceinda (about 15mins from the airport) today and tomorrow, then head across to Disneyland on Tuesday, the 6th. So exciting! Expect many retarded pictures. We stay in Disneyland for two nights, then head into West Hollywood on Thursday the 8th for a week's stay at the Banana Bungalow (awesome name). During that week we plan on hitting up Universal Studios, Sunset Boulevard, and all the goobiest tourist destinations.
We have yet to acquire burn phones, but that is our first order of business tomorrow.
Okay, food time! This is Lainy, signing out!
