Another random update.

Hallo everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful St Patrick's Day (if you celebrated or not). Jess P, Mich and I went out to Patty Boland's, a good ol'Irish pub. There are plenty, plenty, plenty of them in Ottawa, but that didn't stop us from waiting 2.5 hours (with no exaggeration) in the cold, toe-biting weather until we got in.

These are from Mich's facebook, stolen happily. I had a disposable (we'd gotten it the day before when shopping for green outfits and trying on ridiculous things. Can't wait to get that developed...), so we won't be seeing those...

Here are the two lovely ladies I celebrated Irish-ness with on Saturday. I believe this was taken when we finally got our toes back to somewhat room temperature.

One of us does not have an Irish background. Guess which one. And this was taken early on in the evening (well, the part of it spent INSIDE the building) before we got our...

ANTLERS!!

We were pretty stoked about them. Free stuff is always a blast. And a must. They're hanging on my full-length mirror right now and scare the daylights out of me when I turn my light on in the dark. My hand brushes them every time. I really should move them...

Mich and I afterwards decided that wearing them normally was totally uncool. We cool'ed it up with some sideways, upside down action. (And yes, Jess is such the lady)

And I just like this one. I believe we'd had so many pictures taken in such a quick succession that my eyes were going to fall out from all the rapid light exposure.

None of us got tanked, which is QUITE a lot more than I can say for a number of other folk at the bar... (Namely the chick who kept falling on everybody, with her boyfriend falling seconds after or the guy who randomly came up and licked Jess' face.)

The weekend before that was the Humane Society with Chantal from 1-5, then out to The Cabin with Danielle, their boyfriends and Chantal's friend up from Toronto.
The Cabin was fun... should I post pics? Yea... why not?

And here's myself, Chantal and Danielle. The best part is that's an empty cup of water. Yup.
We were so worn out from our Humane Society stint (in which there was an outbreak of Parvovirus in a pup) where we mopped the ENTIRE FACILITY 3x to get rid of the horrendously difficult virus from everywhere it might have gone, or the people who (at any point in the past couple days) had touched it had gone. It was a good time ;) But we did have a blast feeding them, seeing the inner workings of shelter medicine and knowing that we'd gotten to see more of the place than any other first year!

Uh... yup. And we have 13 animals at our clinic now. -sigh- 8 cats and 5 dogs. Though I was told today our first 3 dogs we got in are going back so they can be adopted out (I want Xena -- the Shepherd cross -- because she is AMAZING). All of the cats (except one, I think) have Upper Respiratory Infections. The Gatineau SPCA had an outbreak, which spread to the Humane Society (who they trade animals with) and of course, us. So it's a huge mess at school, with 2 hour husbandry sessions taking double the time. I was happy to hear Xena, Maya and Patches would be heading back so we'd have less animals, but I'll miss'em :( They're better than the two dogs we got in on Monday. One's nervous and doesn't like having anything further than her hips touched and the other doesn't like being restrained and has Crypto, which can be spread to people. -sigh again-

So yea, that's all I'll leave with you folks (I'm sure you're all thrilled to read about the animal-related issues and partying). I've got Pharm tomorrow, which I'm not in the least looking forward to. GOD I hope Dr Hall never gets hired again...
Happy Monday (and Tuesday!)

Jen
