Novica

I wanted to share this amazing company I found. Novica, in association with National Geographic, bridges the gap between you and artists all over the world. They specialize in home decor, art, jewelry, clothing, furniture, instruments.. the list goes on and on.  I stumbled across Novica on eBay while looking for a box to hold my crystals, and I found a beautiful hand painted box from India.  The woman who made the box even included a hand written postcard saying thank you for appreciating her artwork.

Instead of handing over my money to some corporation, like Target or JC Penney, that only pays pennies for it's merchandise, I brought a stunning, hand crafted piece of artwork straight from the artist.  I know it seems simple, but it means a lot to me because visiting Indonesia opened my eyes to how hard artists work for such little compensation.  Novica gets rid of the "middle man" (big corporations that rip artists off, and over charge the buyers) and connects you directly to these wonderful people all over the world.  I love the concept!  I only wish I could have found them sooner, and I will be a loyal customer for life.

They have the most amazing things that you won't find anywhere else - unless, of course, you hop on a plane and go to another country!  Even those paintings done by endangered Asian Elephants... yes, you can buy the original paintings!  The painters (including famous Desi, Ngam, Wanalee, etc.) live on conservations and the sales of their paintings support those conservation centers.

So that's my piece =)  I hope you enjoy Novica as much as I do!
