I found something special.
No, Im not in love, no I havn't found a get rich quick plan, I didn't find a rare pearl jam album in the 99 cent bin.
No its something that actually is special
Have you ever found something that just melts you? It makes your heart swell. It gives you chills. It rattles in your bones.
I found someone. She lives in Seattle and she plays guitar and sings. There are a billion singer songwriters in the world, but this is different. Everytime I listen to her I get this feeling that Im witnessing something great.
We started playing together. I have jammed with many many people in my short life span, but I have NEVER felt something like this. I want to keep her to myself. I don't want anyone else to know what I found. At least not yet. But I know that its inevitable. Seattle needs to hear her. The world needs to hear her.
I just need a little bit of time. A little bit of money. Just one short 3 song E.P. That's all we need. Just a couple of shows. Maybe a short tour. Whatever, it dosn't matter. When there is art and its really really good, it will not be denied. Really good art will find its way through anything. In the end... you can follow trends, you can toss money at anything, you can look sexy, you can throw guitars (like ive done for years), you can have a fancy myspace, you can play at the biggest venues in the biggest towns with the biggest bands on the biggest labels. No..... it dosnt matter. In the end the music itself must be special or it dosn't matter. If the art can not stand alone without gimmics, then its not going to stand the test of time or a listiners short attention span.
It feals great to be a part of this, but Im going to keep this one up my sleeve for a couple more months. You can't rush into things. All I know is that 2010 is going to be an incredible year.
