Sherlock Holmes mix.

Ha. Idk where this came from. I should be doing math. Or something. Anyway. I suppose this is Holmes/Watson-y, with undertones of Watson/Mary, especially for Holmes's songs. I apologize for the random commentary.

[ go ahead and love me ]
{holmes/watson}

1. wish you well - bernard fanning
why'd you give up on me so soon?

Poor Sherlock. He just doesn't understand why Watson would leave him. And for that woman, too. However, he still wants the best for him. Really. He does.

2. portions for foxes - rilo kiley
there's a pretty young thing in front of you
and she's real pretty and she's real into you
...
and it's bad news

See, in wanting the best for Watson, that includes making sure this is really the girl for him. Because he wouldn't want him to get his heart broken. Oh no.

3. hurricane drunk - florence + the machine
I'm going out
I'm going to drink myself to death
and in the crowd
I see you with someone else

Oh Holmes. This is why you don't leave the house anymore, isn't it?

4. wedding bells (are breaking up that old gang of mine) - gene vincent
gee, I get a lonesome feeling
when I hear the church bells chime
those wedding bells are breaking up that old gang of mine

This too.

5. red - elbow
you've been playing too rough lately
you burn too bright
you live too fast
this can't go on too long

Watson is concerned for Holmes and his less-than-normal lifestyle.

6. the beacon - a fine frenzy
burning beacon in the night
can't feel its heat or see its light
that single solitary guide
it must get lonely there sometimes

And the fact that he really has no one but Watson. Well, and Gladstone, when he's not being poisoned.

7. under the blacklight - rilo kiley
when you get sober
will you get kinder
'cause when you get uptight
it's such a drag

Holmes is still hopeful that Watson might come around. I guess.

8. raised by wolves - voxtrot
first you fade into the background
wouldn't even call me
had the nerve to leave me
go ahead and love me

Man, I love this song. Anyway.

9. after hours - we are scientists
one final, final round 'cause time means nothing
say that you'll stay
say that you'll stay

But hey, it's all good, 'cause they'll be BFFs forever no matter what and stumble into bars (or whatever the nineteenth century equivalent of bars was--I'm a science student here, not history) at all hours and laugh and joke and be touchy-feely and awesome. Because that's how they roll.
