So, I know I don't post in here daily (I'd be annoyed with me too, it would be so mundane...) but I do swing by LJ almost every day and I've taken to reading through the friends page a lot more recently. I don't always post something to everything I read either. It is really nice though just to browse through and see what everyone is up to, whats going on all over the world (Okay, North America and Europe only... but meh...) with people that I don't talk to otherwise. I enjoy it. So thanks all and everyone for writing and babbling and ranting and what not.
So, 100 years ago people couldn't do this. 20 years ago even. I know that isn't new information, and maybe 100 years ago people did not generally have circles of friends that crossed oceans and all, but... 20 years ago it wasn't unheard of. So people either wrote letters and used the mail... ie: postal mail, not email. Or they what??? lost contact. Remember the long distance telephone ads of the 1980's Sprint and the pin drop versus AT&T and... I don't recall. Now we have this, cell phones with nationwide long distance and skype! We can stay in touch better.
Yet, here I am posting to say I do read you're LJ's and I do care about you, but yeah... we never talk much do we. We've all this technology to make distances seem less and that can allow friendships to flourish outside the 10, 20... 50 mile radius of our homes and still, I struggle to talk and communicate with everyone as much as I might like to. (AJ: I am recalling something from that Slow book at the moment...)

Funny world isn't it.
