I tell people I'm allergic to lettuce sometimes but I really don't eat it because I think it tastes like dirt. At least if people think I break out in hives they don't laugh at me.

It's ok to say, "I don't like lettuce." I doubt people will laugh at you.

Hmm, its actually not the fact the I don't like lettuce that gets the laughs, its the reason why I don't like it. You would be surprised the number of people who give me hell about the way I describe the taste.

what? lettuce is the best, have you tried different types.

Romaine and iceberg.

I'm not sure what other types there are besides those. But the smell isn't appetizing and the taste parrellels that I've noticed. And this is exactly my point. People think its funny and absolutely amazing that I don't like lettuce.

Its not a huge deal, but damn if it doesn't get tiresome.
