Because of Her - Silent Forgiveness
doojoon/junhyung
“Nggh.” Incoherent words slipped from Junhyung’s mouth as soon as he woke up...in his own bed. He remembered last night, the fight, the run-away-from-beast’s-dorm stunt, the manager and stupid leader coming to get him on the other side of town...and falling asleep.
Well, not really the last part.
Nor, does he remember Doojoon trying to wake him up, because they’ve finally reached the dorm at 4:32 in the morn, ending up with the other earning an elbow to the stomach. He doesn’t remember Doojoon carrying him, all princess-y and bridal-like back into their dorm, up all 9 flights of stairs because the elevators had broken down. He doesn’t remember not wanting to let go of the leader, when he was placed softly onto his own bed, and doesn’t remember his successful attempt to making the leader spend the night with him. He definitely doesn’t remember how happy he was.
It was only a dream, and he was content with believing that, it’d feel to too surreal to believe otherwise. It’d hurt too much for reality to hit him. It’d be too much for him to know that it was because the other had been tired, and it’d most likely...no; it had definitely meant nothing.
This wasn’t the first time he’d turn reality into a dream. What was the point in reminiscing when all reminiscing would do was bring tears? Doojoon has, and will always be like this. Junhyung sees it as a piece of heaven shared with someone he loves, Doojoon sees it as a helping hand for a bro in need. Times like these, as much as Junhyung wants to hold onto, he can’t. There’s no point in it, it’s just a another reason for his heart to hurt.
“Fuck. Gotta stop thinkin’ so m-”
“Hey.” A calmly hesitant voice, greeted him away from his never-ending train of thoughts. Rubbing his face harshly with his hands, he keeps his eyes shut, only to open them again and shoots Doojoon, the owner of the voice, a smirk.
“Hey.” He says weakly, with half lidded eyes
“So, about last night...” The leader starts, and all of a sudden, it’s like a cat’s gotten his tongue. He can’t think of enough words to form a sentence, and he doesn’t know what he’s trying to say by starting off the conversation with what he’d said. An apology maybe? He takes a couple more steps into their room and rubs the back of his neck pathetically, “Look, I’m sorry...I...you're right. I shouldn't be moping about her. It’s kinda...well,” he lets out a pitiful laugh, “stupid of me.”
He’s been planning an apology ever since Junhyung stepped foot out of the dorm last night. The happenings of last night made him want to apologize to the other, or do something for him, anything that can mend their friendship. He though he’d just wanted his friend back, his shoulder in need, but that thought was thrown out the window when Junhyung’s delicate body was in his arms, the rapper’s own arms clinging helplessly onto the leader’s as Doojoon placed him onto his own bed. That’s when he knew it wasn’t just because he wanted his ‘shoulder’ back, he yearned for the other’s undivided attention, he craved the rapper's smiling face. Doojoon thought it was his imagination that was keeping him from leaving; it wasn’t. He wanted to stay with the rapper, and he wanted to be there for him last night.
With wide eyes, Junhyung watches his leader in awe. “You,” a warm chuckle escaped his full lips, “Sorry?” He mocked, another smirk with a cocked eyebrow followed close behind his words.
“Junhyunie,” Doojoon switches his gaze to the floor in search of words, but returns his attention to said rapper when he fails to do so, “Jun, seriously, I feel like a douchebag about last night.”
“Well, you should. I mean, way to bring down the entire group when all the kids tried to do was welcome you back. You could’ve at least moped about her afterwards, and NOT to the group, to ME. You know I’d listen. Even if I DO say more than I should, and even if I DO hate the slightest mentioning of that slut,”
“Jun.”
“Fine, girl. Same thing.” He repeats with quoting hand gestures to emphasize his sarcasm. “But, you get the gist of what I’m saying.”
“Yeah, I know. I know. I’m really,” he squeezed his eyes and brought balled fists close to his chest, “reeeeeally sorry.” The leader’s eyes never once leaving Junhyung’s. Junhyung doesn’t say anything, just raises his brows at the leader as if saying, ‘Yeah, right.”
“Honest!” Doojoon says in his defense, drawing an ‘X’ over his heart to show his sincerity in response to Junhyung’s accusing stare. “It won’t happen again. And you know what? If it does, then I give you permission to slap me, bitch slap me, and then you can kick me where it really hurts-where it really, REALLY hurts.” The leader reassures, adding so much emphasis to the last statement he felt like he was going through puberty all over again.
Junhyung just smiles his half-hearted and crooked smile. And really, that’s all it took, and really, Doojoon knew. What Doojoon didn’t know though, was that Junhyung had never been mad in the first place. He was hurt, and that’s a whole other meaning.
