1. Title: House of Souls
Type: romance/fantasy
Rating: NC-17
Characters/Pairings: Adam/Tommy
Warnings: character death--kinda, sorta, but not really
Summary: Two souls that are mated in the great hall try to fulfill their destiny by finding and loving each other on Earth. The story is done in three parts, with trips back to the Hall of Souls in between. The first two trips to the Earthly plane are unsuccessful. The third is successful. Vague references to other unsuccessful trips are made. Each time the two souls fail to fulfill their destiny results in greater sadness & more damage to the souls.
The first trip is short & set in a time when humans were relatively new to the Earth. They lived in tribes in caves & hunted to survive. Adam & Tommy have grown up together & grown close. Life is hard & they don't have a chance to actualize a relationship. The second part is set in Kansas, just before the civil war. Adam is a reporter from New York sent to cover the battle for the new Kansas Territory. Tommy is trying to make a living & a life amidst the turmoil. They find and recognize each other, but before they can do anything about it, Meeting Place happens. The third part is present time. and it ends with the end of tour.. The storyline follows real life pretty much. The key to each part is that they recognize something in each others eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul. The first part is very primal and barren to match the setting. The second part is long, and has more dialogue than I've ever written. The third part is from Adam's POV, & is more angsty than the other two.
