OMGWTFAMPAS

Oscars last night were very amusing. The beginning movie was funny, going through the possible hosts (Mel Gibson and the cast of "Apocalypto" saying in Mayan "Not me" and "Not us", and then being chased off by a fake panther was the best). Jon Stewart was a great host, making all the intelligent quips and zingers that make him always funny to watch (the funniest comment was made to Steven Spielberg: "'Schindler's List' and 'Munich'. I think I speak for all Jews when I say, I can't wait to see what happens to us next! Trilogy!" It's wrong to like it, but it was funny, dammit.) I don't care if critics didn't like that moment when Ben Stiller came out in green-screen garb, I thought it was funny. "Envelope, open yourself." So was Will Ferrell and Steve Carell presenting the makeup award, especially Steve Carell. I was surprised to be laughing at Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin introducing Robert Altman to the stage, but, if they made me laugh, then they did their job well. My biggest problems with this year's ceremony was the music being played once the winners got on stage and all the freakin' montages.
