He barely ever raised his voice. He was always cold, methodical; he never seemed to show any real emotion. That of course was unless he was trying to convince you to do something you did not want to do, then he was passionate. It was all a front; never had a question been so compelling as, who exactly is Ben? No one ever knew.

She asked around about any previous relationships he had, all she was told is there was a girl before the purge, one during his childhood. She fell ill and died in his arms, after that he never seemed to want or need to be in a relationship with anyone.

One night she was taking a walk around the houses, after she had dropped off a casserole dish to Amelia, she looked inside Alex's room. She was studying with a pencil behind her ear she waived to Juliet and sighed deeply before getting back to work. Juliet smiled and waived back, and continued walking around the house. Ben's shades were drawn, but there was a crack she could clearly see through. She looked, not too proud of herself for invading someone else's privacy, and saw Ben sitting on his bed masturbating. There was a wooden doll in front of him on the dresser that Juliet had known she had never seen there before.

Juliet may never want to admit it to a living soul, but the way he looked right then as he was lost in whatever thoughts he had and not in control, he looked sexy. The sight of him made her want to run in there, kiss him harshly on the lips and see if she couldn't help him out herself.

As he came his eyes opened and she ran away, hoping he didn't see her.
