Recs for your Tuesday
If you could do with a break from the news, here are some longer reads to lose yourself in for a while:
Terra Incognita by wendymr (Lewis/Hathaway, Lewis) - Written for smallfandombang, this is a long, satisfying fic that diverges from canon at the end of Series 4. (Note: Please heed the warnings.)
All Bets are Off by
magnolia822 (Merlin/Arthur, Merlin) - This one belongs firmly in the category of "holy shit, how did I miss this?" It's a lovely modern AU with the boys being clueless together, and the buildup and the payoff will leave you with a smile on your face and a warm, fuzzy glow. :)
Dirty Laundry by persnickett (John/Matt, Live Free or Die Hard) - Also for smallfandombang, this is a great look inside John's head as he comes to term with his feelings for Matt.
The Boy and The Beast by
dira (Derek/Stiles, Teen Wolf) - I'm sure everyone in TW fandom has already seen this one recced everywhere, but I thought I'd pass it along anyway - for someone who's never seen the show, Dira's story is still easy to follow (a difficult feat for a fic for a fantasy show), and her Stiles is perfectly tuned teenage boy. The romance builds slowly and skirts the difficult territory of bestiality (you'll get what I mean when you read it) with skill, and completely avoids the consent issues I've run across in many of the werewolf/omegaverse fics I've read (not saying that's a problem for those who enjoy those fics, it's just never been my thing). All in all, a great read, as I've come to expect from Dira. :)
