And for those who haven't seen it, check out his speech to some of his campaign workers. When he teared up, I have to say I got a little verklempt. I certainly don't agree with everything he's done, but you can't say the man doesn't work hard or believe in what he's doing, and he clearly cares

I am so happy Obama won the election ;-) He seems to be familiar with children, and that's a good sign! (not every man who has children is familiar with them...)

I was a bit astonished as I read the word "verklempt", because there is a "verklemmt" in German language. I looked it up in the urban dictionary, and I read it was Yiddish. Now I understood it because I often understand Yiddish words. Btw the German "verklemmt" has a bit different meaning: something like "inhibited" oder "suppressed" about emotions.

Sometimes I think I am learning a lot in fandom, much more than only the meaning of the word "slash" ;-).

English is well known for "borrowing" words from other languages (see icon), and a lot of Yiddish words are used by Americans who have no idea it's Yiddish. They may not have even heard of Yiddish.

If you've learned that the meaning of "slash" in fandom does not refer to using a sword to cut someone, then you're well on your way to understanding fandom. ;)

I know one picture (the second one down) of a young black boy touching Obama's head is because he asked if the President's hair was like his.

I'd heard about that vid, but I just watched it and it made me cry. I do think he really cares, too. and aww, those kiddos, great pictures :)
