Ahahahaha, three of the four fandoms I picked this year I also picked in previous years, so I'm totally being lazy and largely C&Ping those sections. It's been kind of an exhausting October, so that's honestly the best idea all round, I think. :D
Common Law
There is not nearly enough Common Law fic (or fandom in general) considering this show pretty much slashes itself. Travis Marks and Wes Mitchell are feuding cop partners who are sent to couples counseling to sort out their differences. I mean, come on. Also, they have metric fucktons of chemistry. I would love Wes/Travis slash, preferably futurefic that shows Wes has moved on from his divorce (because I don't think he has at this point). If you're in an R-rated mood, this pairing really lends itself to fight!sex or angry!sex. But really, anything involving Wes and Travis being awesome together, with or without slash, would be wonderful.
Jeeves & Wooster
I had the chance to rewatch Jeeves and Wooster a while back, and I'd forgotten how much I loved the way Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie interpreted the characters. Since then, I've been enjoying the fandom immensely. My favourite stories for these two are those that capture the light deftness of the Wodehouse language and tone, while still making me feel the strength of the Jeeves-Wooster relationship (however the author chooses to interpret it). Being a history geek, I'm also keen on historical accuracy, which luckily this fandom delivers in spades.
Lewis
Lewis and the strangely sweet pairing of Lewis and Hathaway has brought me a great deal of much-needed joy over the last year. I obviously have a bit of a thing for intergenerational slash (see Snape/Harry, John McClane/Matt Farrell, Martin/Douglas above to name just a few), and while there is a bit of an age difference here, the nature of the characters and their respective strengths sets the relationship on a more equal footing than you would expect. I love Hathaway's sass and Lewis' sweetness, their compassion and their sparring and the way they complement one another. Generally, I just want to wallow in these two being adorable. :)
Guadalcanal Diary
Anything exploring Hook and Chicken's relationship, either gen or slash, would make my entire life, really. If you go the slash route, I love the idea of reluctant Hook and confident (or at least pretending to be) Chicken. :) I get that the language of the period and the film is occasionally problematic, so if you'd like to keep it historically accurate without resorting to that, please feel free. Postwar is fine with me as well.
