Trolling the internets, part 14,328
I don't know how I keep finding new stuff of Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox, considering none of this stuff is actually new and I thought I'd already mined it all, but hey, I'm not questioning it. So have some links!
The first bit I found I'm not linking to because there's a pap shot of Fox and Billie Piper and their sprog, but here's the text (from 2009):
As the axe looms over ITV drama Lewis, its stars Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox are so keen to keep the series on-air, they've decided to write it themselves.
Whately says: "Laurence and I have an idea for a story, which we want to take forward. We have got a lot of the ingredients, so we'll get together soon over a beer."
If I didn't know the two of them hated getting too into character development for Lewis and Hathaway, I'd be wondering what they'd do with a script, especially considering what they get up to off-screen. :D
Second: from the lovely dracofiend, a Kevin Whately interview for the Series 5 DVD extras in which he talks about Lewis and Hathaway forming a stronger emotional connection. I cannot even.
Third: Some Kevin shots I hadn't seen before:
- Ahahaha, clearly I have to see the English Patient. I've never been able to resist a man who pairs Chianti with boxer shorts.
- Unfortunately has a huge watermark, but hey, it's KW in a beard (click for bigger). NOM.
- An interview for Tamworth Two in which he talks about spending summers as a farm hand when he was a kid. Teenage farm hand Kevin Whately...um. Yeah.
- An article about one of the Newcastle charity events he does periodically. Apparently for that one, they did an Auf Wiedersehen, Pet skit set in Colditz. I would have loved to have seen that.
- A cute little interview about Joe Maddison's War where he talks about his lack of dancing and public speaking skills.
- A 1996 BBC Radio Four interview that you can DL or stream. Haven't listened to it yet, but apparently he talks about his younger days.
- I've tried not to judge Kevin for being a golfer, but this shot of him with his hair all windblown and already boozing it up is enough to make me forgive him. (source)
- And finally, a lovely big version of a B/W publicity shot I haven't seen before. (source)
