Summer in Seattle is trying to begin. I am trying to get spring's loose ends all sewn up so I can move on to new projects, new goals, and even some new responsibilities.

It's been a long, crazy, wonderful and dreadful winter. A time of death and new life, 3 weddings and a funeral, several most joyous births, holidays and dark days and earth-shattering news, soul-sucking plane trips, several new and fabulous friends and rekindling friendships with some old and so, so dear ones I had thought lost to time and geography. I've checked New Orleans off of my list of desired future destinations. I loved the place. I've hit squarely onto middle age, lost several pounds, gained a few back, and plan to spend the summer taking them back off, plus a lot more.

I am writing today to celebrate a full month spent in Seattle - the first full month I've been here since early October. It's good to be back home and feel as if I'm getting the hang of this saddle again. Once I get those loose ends tied up I'm looking forward to the future and moving on to new and better. I feel as if life is blessed right now, and some sort of alluring charm is waiting for me, just around the bend. I look forward to seeing what comes next. I hope I choose the right fork in the road.

summer, renewal, life
