FMA Fic: "Gonna Pop The Question"

Summary: She wished he would hurry up because she had been waiting far too long for this.
Author’s Notes: Ths was written for fma_fic_contest, for the prompt "tear". Please enjoy! Title is taken from a song in the play, “The Wedding Singer”.
“So what I mean is that, uh, according to Burble’s law of-”
Winry sighed as Ed rambled on about alchemic theories and other scientific things. She didn’t understand what he was saying, but she could certainly understand what he was meaning. And quite frankly, she wished he would hurry up because she had been waiting far too long for this.
“-relating to equivalent exchange, which-”
Winry knew she had to take action soon or else they would be here all night. Plus her nerves were killing her.
“Um… Ed?” Winry interrupted. “You said you wanted to ask me something…?”
“I’m getting there!” Ed snapped, blushing furiously. “I just wanted to, uh, clarify that, that you-” He faltered at the look Winry gave him.
“Well, you and I; we fit,” He explained.
Winry giggled despite herself. “You could say that.”
“So I think we should, um… because you said you would givemeallofit…” he said the last five words very fast.
Winry nodded, smiling, because she knew what he was going to ask. She had been waiting for him to ask it since the day he had left on that train headed west three years ago.
“Would you like to… Willyoumarryme?”
And to both Ed and Winry’s surprise, she burst into tears.
Ed’s expression of shock soon turned into a grimace. “Um… sorry, I guess I shouldn’t have-”
He was interrupted by Winry’s mouth on his. She pulled back and wiped her eyes, her smile bright.
“Yes,” she said. And they kissed again.
