OMFG I watched Sweeney Todd today!

FINALLY! I'm soooo happy with it!
Thoughts and opinions behind the cut. MAYOR SPOILERY of course, so if you haven't seen it yet don't read this post :D

First off, let me tell you I'm becaming a huge Tim Burton fangirl. I just love how he presents the stories he's telling. The changes between Benjamin and Sweeney, the close-ups to Sweeney's eyes (just like he said in sevaral interviews), the mixture of terror with a little bit of humor and, of course, he has an incledible taste in choosing his actors, I can't think of any of the cast who didn't do a good perfomance.
How creepy was Judge Turpin? Really, Alan Rickman is not helping me overcome my innate hate for him on-screen after playing Snape. I think he is an amazing actor, he just plays the bad guys perfectly LOL
Johanna/Jonathan are the cutest couple ever. I love them, I just do.
One thing, I just loved and I'm so grateful for it, is that the film had actual dialogues. Sometimes, musicals are told just with songs, which I don't think it's suitable; so the company of dialogues and the actors being able to express themselves without the use of music.
I was reading some trivia before going to the cinema, and Tim Burton said that he really wanted to be extra bloody as the blood represented a sort of catharsis to Sweeney. I couldn't agree more with his vision; I personally don't enjoy that much blood on films or the brutally in which the victims were killed, but that is what make the killing more believable and reasonable, if you don't mind me saying.
Adolfo Pirelli was so hilarious. I felt kinda wrong laughing in a horror movie but the way he dressed and spoke and using the Italian flag when shaving was an invation for my horrible and loud laugh. to make matters worse we went to the first showing and there's like three more people

Good Points:
- Johnny Depp singing: My good Lord he's awesome! I love it! Every single song was amazingly well performed.
- Helena Bonham Carter: I don't know her that much but I saw her both in Harry Potter and in Sweeney and I think she's terrific! I was so surprised on how well she sings; her song with Ed Sanders aka Toby was so sweet and heart breaking too. Besides, she went through a hell lot preparation for the role, and that makes her greater actor in my eyes. I will definitely watch more movies with her.
- The songs: Oh man I'm so hooked on the songs! Last month I entered the site and you could hear some parts of the OST and I couldn't get "Johanna" out of head and it all happened again :P
By the sea scenes: Those scenes almost made the movie for me. The song was beautifully perfomed by Helena, the little kisses in the begging and Mrs Lovett's fantasies were so cute! What I love the most is that Sweeney's expretion almost didn't change throughtout the whole fantasy and the very last kiss was so weird and exactly how I would picture Sweeney kissing ^^

Bad points:
- The blood: I'm not complaining about the amount of blood but the blood's color is what bothers me. It's so obviously fake and it remaind me so much to Sleepy Hollow. That's why I'm guessing it was made that color on purpose to make a contrast between the dark and pale atmosphere of the entire film and the shinny red blood. But I can't say it's a bad point, you get over that very quickly.

I think you can tell how I longed seeing this movie and how much I liked it :D

Yes, I took a picture with a poster :) That's my brother by the way.

I wanted to take a picture with this poster making a kissy face but there were a lot of people walking by and I chicken out :S
