(no subject)
Hi!
Long story short….Ron, my stepdad, had open heart surgery yesterday....They couldn't get the valves replaced the way they had intended so they have to go back in and make a bigger incision. Then we found out he had a ton of buildup in his chest cavity which could have killed him!
My mom is/has been a nervous wreck…..luckily, my aunt showed up (even though my mom said she wanted to be alone) and kept her mind off of things yesterday.
My sister was a crying mess b/c she hates feeling helpless. She’s such a tough person until someone she loves is going through something….completely breaks down. Which leaves ME to be the strong one….so I gotta be there for mama.
I waited all day for it to be overwith and to hear GOOD news that it was successful.
As far as I know, Ron made it through the night without any complications… Niki just called and said they had him sitting up in a chair and he was talking this morning. :)
Late last night, they took out the breathing tube & he woke up and knew where he was!
But they were worried about stroke or internal bleeding so they had to keep an eye on him 24/7.
He’s going to freak out when he finds out they did more than they were supposed to during the surgery….He BETTER be done with smoking for good after this, I know that much!
My mom was crying to me last night b/c when she saw him in the ICU, he looked dead. She said they were pumping blood into him from all different tubes (I would’ve passed out!) and he was on oxygen and his face was flat and dead looking. So scary. MAYBE now the two of them will FINALLY realize life is short and love each other as a COUPLE again. I hope for that!! I think this definitely got through my mom’s thick Libra brain. Lol
I’m gonna go see him tomorrow morning and hope that he looks better than he will today. :Fingers crossed:
It's been an emotional weekend so far but Ron's a tough Italian! :)
My dad is SO cute because he was calling Ron on Thursday and giving him pep talks to get through it all. I love that they're BFF's. lol
St. Patty's Day was fun. I was all decked out in Green at work....then went out for some GREEN Beer after work!
Tonight we have dinner plans at Houlihan's (I've only been once) with some friends & then a fire pit at Marina's afterwards. All I know is that she makes amazing cakes and apparently made one for dessert tonight! Mmmm!
Tomorrow night we're doing a "March Birthdays" dinner with Mikey's family...and his dad's side. I get to see his Grandmom and that excites me! LOVE HER!
It's Murry-time and I'm miserable today. Ouchies!!
Super Full Moon tonight should be AWESOMEEEEEEEE!
