I realized that I haven't really talked a whole lot about my move on here. Suffice it to say that we're in Florida now, living in lovely Punta Gorda. We moved in to our new place on the 28th, after a variety of speed bumps along the way, including trailer problems, bad traffic, runaway dogs, and a house with no floors.
Young started work on the 2nd of July, doing pretty much the same thing he did in Denver.
It still feels like vacation, probably because I'm not working yet. I'm applying for jobs like crazy, but haven't gotten anything back yet. I've been off work for over two weeks. A week to get down here, a week to get settled, and after about three days alone at home being a housekeeper, I'm ready to get out. I feel like I can't really establish a routine without having work. If left to myself, I can't even manage to get out of the house before about 1:00 in the afternoon, but somehow when I have work, it's not that difficult.
Anyway, other than not having a job yet, Florida has actually been pretty fantastic. The weather is so consistent -- high of 92 every day, low of 75, brief rain showers in the afternoon. Although, actually, today was a little strange. This morning around 6:30, we had a major thunderstorm. Lightning thunder and rain for about half of an hour. I've never experienced a thunderstorm in the morning before.
So Florida. Here we are.
