Maria Taylor- Song Beneath the Song

Cryptic words meander
Now there is a song beneath the song
One day you'll learn
You'll soon discern its true meaning
An interesting detachment
A listless poem of love sincere
Desire, despair
Overlapping melodies

I love the melody behind this song. Heard it on Grey's Anatomy and loved it.

Pat Benetar- Shadows of the Night

You said - oh girl, its a cold world
When you keep it all to yourself
I said you cant hide on the inside
All the pain youve ever felt
Ransom my heart, but baby dont look back
Cause we got nobody else

Pat Benetar rocks, it's such an 80's song and just reminds me of dancing around in my room singing at the top of my lungs.

Sugarland- Settlin'

I ain't settling for just getting by
I've had enough so so for the rest of my life
Tired of shooting too low, so raise the bar high
Just enough ain't enough this time
I ain't settling for anything less than everything, yeah

I'm just adopting this song as an anthem for my dating life. :P

RENT Movie Soundtrack- Seasons of Love

525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year in the life? How about love? How about love? How about love? Measure in love. Seasons of love.

I adore RENT with all my heart and this is such a lovely song.

Nelly Furtado- Say It

You either stand or you fall. When your will is broken. When it slips from your hand. When there's no time for joking. There's a hole in the plan.

Nelly Furtado is such a versatile artist. Love this song and its just fun to listen or dance to.

Emilie Autumn- Save You

Can you not recognize a soul already sold. How do I save you from the things I've been. I can't deny the past, it's written on my face. How do I save you from the mess you're in. When I can't make you leave this torturous embrace.

Emilie's voice is so pure and lovely on this song. The melody and her voice are just so wistful and it's one of my favorites by her.

Avenue Q Soundrtrack- Schadenfreude

NICKY:
Oh, Schadenfreude, huh?
What's that, some kinda Nazi word?

GARY COLEMAN:
Yup! It's German for "happiness at the misfortune of others!"

NICKY:
"Happiness at the misfortune of others." That is German!

Watching a vegetarian being told she just ate chicken

GARY COLEMAN:
Or watching a frat boy realize just what he put his dick in!

NICKY:
Being on the elevator when somebody shouts "Hold the door!"

GARY AND NICKY:
"No!!!"
Schadenfreude!

Yes yes, another Broadway soundtrack. I had to!! This song is hysterical, almost every song from Avenue Q is, but this one just cracks me up.

Allison Krauss and Union Station- So Long, So Wrong

I know I'll be lonesome
That brings about a little fear
I know I'll be sad and I'll be blue
I have given the best of me
When I forgot to say to you
What you forgot to say to me
So long, so wrong

Allison Krauss is so underappreciated. She's got a gorgeous voice and this song showcases it so well, it's just very bluegrass sounding and I adore her.

Evanescence- Snow White Queen

You belong to me,
My snow white queen.
There's nowhere to run, so let's just get it over.
Soon I know you'll see,
You're just like me.
Don't scream anymore my love, 'cause all I want is you.

Amy Lee's voice is just so haunting in this song and this is one of the best song's on the new album, it's very gothic rock and goes back to their roots a lot.

Autumn- Summer's End

Witness the madness, watching the splendour
Cover your eyes to sink in the deep
Witness the madness, watching the splendour
Dreaming in a dream in your sleep

And smother the sun for a while
Touching your own beauty and vile
Embrace the gloom that stares in your eyes
On the edge where reality dies

Another very gothic metal/rock song, with gorgeous lyrics.
