"i'm gonna go next door and get my casio"
Yesterday evening I heard a very loud car accident right outside our apartment. I went outside to gawk, but immediately felt sick and guilty about it, so I didn't end up seeing much. There were crowds forming within two minutes. One car hit another car, it ended up in a yard, and I saw a person laying on the ground. I think they are ok, though, as the ambulance didn't seem to leave the scene very franticly. The scariest thing was actually the shouting and screaming I heard right after it happened. Yuck. I hate cars.
Today was definitely the best day in the new store so far. I finally feel like it is actually going to *be* a store in a couple weeks. People seem to be getting more comfortable with each other. I like the people a lot. I don't know. It just felt better today. Everyone got their sections, too. Mine: Science (yay!), Cooking (yay!), and Romance paperbacks (um..).
I am going to start working as a volunteer at the local volunteer-run public radio station, KFAI, in about a week. Hopefully in their newsroom. They have a good reputation for training people; and it means I will get to use/get comfortable with the equipment without having to blow hundreds of dollars on it. We'll see how it goes. I'm excited.
Lots to do tonight! Finish hanging pictures... purchase food/stuff for housewarming gathering... clean... so what am I doing sitting here on my ass??
