I posted a status that I voted (because I'm grown up now! No, it wouldn't be going just to the school district. It's all over Oregon, so it'd be going to 1) multiple school districts, and 2) the police and health services and stuff. All of those things always come from the same budget, and all of them are currently struggling. Our school especially is doing so poorly that if this doesn't pass, some teachers will immediately be let go, and then I'm sure others will be re-evaluated. Our class sizes are already at the tipping point, and we've lost school days. If this budget doesn't pass, it sounds like it's honestly a toss up what will happen at all. Oregon has no sales tax, therefore we get no revenue from that, and people consistently vote it down. I dunno, we are having a lot of money problems and unemployment rate is like Top 10 in the nation and on and on. Honestly I'm not sure how much I should answer on this, because if Pierce sees it I'm sure he'd re-explain anything for you, haha.
Mrs. Case was telling me about 67, and basically the inherent issue is that $10 was the minimum ever in the first place, which was in the 1930's. It hasn't been bumped up since then, and it was to encourage businesses to move to Oregon to bring in revenue. It still confuses me because well, I think I must be stupid or something, but yeah.
