"Highly qualified judicial nominees are waiting years to get an up-or-down vote from the United States Senate," Mr. Bush said. "They wait for years while partisans search in vain for reasons to reject them. The obstructionist tactics of a small group of senators are setting a pattern that threatens judicial independence."
they aren't searching in vain. i believe siding with big business and being accused of being too right-winged by Republicans and explicitly saying you think the court should attempt to overturn Roe v. Wade amongst other disturbing things are legitimate issues. definitely definitely definitely worth filibustering over. you say in vain when there is nothing to be found. there is plenty to be found. especially since the issue is not just that they are right winged, but they are actively right winged. activists ruling as Judges.
judges are supposed to be impartial. activist judges are what "threatens judicial indpendence."
