Success came in the form of a 132 pound Doe today.
My little hunter was the best!! I love her and I want to take her home. However, my landlord is ticky about roommates and pets and would probably kick her out. Also, I can’t afford a child at the moment…. But if I could… this is the kid I’d want!
Pictures are worth a thousand words right?
In lieu of a proper entry, I will give you visuals. My experience with this precious child was absolutely amazing and I don’t think my words can adequately do the day justice. Hunting is so important to me. It’s a family tradition and it lives deep within my bones. Too pass down a piece of heritage so dear is really awe-inspiring. To pass it down to a child that doesn’t have anyone else to pass it down to them…
I can’t even put into words.
I wouldn’t trade this day for anything in the world.
Amber & Me
She’s 12 and very charming
She’s also a hell of shot with my Remington 25.06 (bolt action)
The little sweetheart practicing with my Rifle
Check out the Marksmanship!
That’s her grouping at 150 yeards.
Palmer Home Children and Volunteers from today.
Here is the view from our Stand. You can kind of see a deer.
It’s blurry, I was trying to snap pics while not spooking the critters.
Amber with her first deer ever!
I’m so happy for her. She was THRILLED. She actually won the ‘big deer contest’ by having the oldest and fattest deer harvested. Hers was a 132 pound 4 year old doe. After the hunt, we cleaned the deer and took them to the processor (who is donating his services to process all of the deer meat, sweet) and Amber couldn’t quick talking about deer sausage and jerky she was going to “put on the table” for the other kids. It was adorable and I’ve never had a more proud moment. I called my Daddy and he was BEAMING over the phone. He sounded so proud. Now, I kind of know how he felt when I took my first deer.
~Great Day~
