Happy Birthday to meeeee!
So what if it was yesterday. I declared it my birthday weekend as somehow I managed to get the entire weekend off and with Monday that makes it three days in a row. I will enjoy every minute of it.
Yesterday I had to work so it wasn't really a day of celebration but today Lisa and I went to San Fran to the Farmer's Market. I had such a great time. This was really all I wanted to do. Don't ask, it's a chef thing. To be able to roam amongst the stalls of fresh organic produce and cheeses and flowers, it was a chef's dream. This is the kind of stuff I geek out over. I got some sourdough bread, pluots, nectarines, fresh pasta (spinach ribbon pasta and gorganzola and walnut ravioli), meyer lemon and rose gardinia marmalade, organic tomatoes, some madalines and scones from Miette and I think that's it. On our way home we stopped at Trader Joe's in Pleasanton and I picked up a few things I can't get at a regular grocery store here. Then after one of the 5 million times Lisa had to stop to pee (oh the woahs of pregnancy) I got a Gyro for my dinner. It was the best day. Tomorrow Mom is making me a special dinner and she made me a lemon cake. I'm so excited!
I've been thinking about this past year and so much has changed and I feel I'm just in the beginnings. I have decided since I'm 32 it's well over time to take control of my life and my health. These things are going to be my goals for this year. That and moving closer to work because I'm dying over this drive. I'm going to take everything a day at a time so it won't make me crazy. I've mostly given up caffeine (down to one caffinated beverage a day) and I've cut back on fast food. I know I need to eliminate it completely which I am trying. Some days I slip up and I'm trying my best not to beat myself up about it. I just start over the next day. I know I'm ready to change my life because when I think about it, I get excited. That never happened before. I will be trying my best.
I have been reading bandombigbang stories. I've completed one, arsenicjade Panic story which was amazing. I don't have the link but everyone should go read it. I just loved it so much.
