The L Word -- song meme

List 10 songs that begin with the letter given to you and explain why you picked them. Comment and I will give you a letter.

msbelle gave me L! My favorite! Of course. If you'd like any of the songs, let me know.

Last Caress -- The Misfits
The lyrics are foul, with the baby killing and mother raping, but it’s one of my favorite Misfits songs to sing along with. It’s so catchy!

Look to Tomorrow -- The NOW Time Delegation
Sweet, soulful little nugget at the very end of Watch for Today, an album I played the hell out of when I first got it.

Lie to Me -- Tom Waits
The first song on Orphans, starts things off in a rollicking, rockabilly way.

Leaning -- Robert Mithcum & Lillian Gish (from Oxford American Southern Sampler 2000)
Creepy! I’ve still never seen the movie it’s from, Night of the Hunter. I’m adding it to my netflix RIGHT NOW!

Let’s Rock & Roll -- Bobby Bare Jr.
“I live on the floor of a mini-van. Driven by drunks across this land.” The rock-and-roll lifestyle I’m glad I don’t have!

Little Hands (Rough Mix) -- Flaming Lips (work-in-progress cover of the Skip Spence song)
Interesting view into Flaming Lips working out how to play this song. This was on a Covers mix my friend Jennie made for me & it’s followed by the original Skip Spence version which I was not familiar with.

Live Wire -- Motley Crue
The one Motley Crue song I really liked when we were figuring out which to cover for Hate the 80s--the Metal Years last year. It sounds more punk than metal to me. Turns out it was really hard to sing! I think I did okay in the end now. And I still like the song!

Lost Girls -- Tilly & the Wall
Benn put this on the Shank’s Best of 2006 mix and I LOVE it (maybe) best of all. They use tap dancing for percussion!!

Love/Hate Rock -- Secret Crush Society
umm…if I can put one of our songs on a list of songs I will. That’s just the kind of shameless I am. Anyway, we haven’t played this in a while and I kind of miss it. I was most proud of the lyrics when I wrote it probably of anything on the record.

Lost in the Supermarket -- The Clash

It’s almost 30 years old. Crazy. I still love it.
