more damn dishwasher drama
well the parts came in. T installed them. He went to pull out the old dishwasher and ran into a problem. Seems the tile is a bit higher than the'sub?' floor the dishwasher sits on and the only way to get it out is to remove a minimum of two tiles. UGH!!! T also says that the wood underneath the dishwasher has some water damage. We have a raised 'foundation?'...basically the house sits on pillars and there are wooden beams that are placed at regular intervals. T swears the sub-floor? foundation or whatever the hell it is is rather thick and we can't replace the wood even if we wanted to. He thinks that the wood will dry out and it will be fine.
Still...ugh! I just have visions of the damn thing falling through the floor.
On the plus side the previous owner left us a few cases of tiles and even grout. T will borrow a tile cutter from a friend and do it himself. ETA for full installation/operation: 2 weeks.
