work stuff
sheesh! why is it days you want to leave at a decent hour things that should take 15 min take hours, phone calls that should be brief end up taking over an hour? Today work went to shit in a hurry. First, there's construction going on in front of our building and the workers cut our T-1 or DSL lines. all three companies dead in the water.
This week has also been irritating b/c I'm helping my other two coworkers put together some maps for a project they're working on and the parameters always fucking change!!! So, the internets are down but they need me to revise the boundaries one last time. Easier said than done. But I get it done with plenty of time to spare. At three I had phase 2 of my morning conference call scheduled so I was twiddling my thumbs waiting for that to happen. It happens and I'm on the freakin' phone holding this client's hand for over an hour. My god, man, make a decision! My coworker whom I was helping out decided to go home after lunch, around 2pm. so he could email the map to the client. I ran an errand and I get back to three frantic phone messages from said coworker wanting me to fed ex copies of two documents for another client. Good thing I was still there since admin had left for the day, and the other planners were gone. At one point they wanted me to make additional copies! these aren't small documents! It's 4:30pm!!! my coworker is probably on his second beer by now and I still need to get my shit done which is doubled b/c I'm leaving for a week to go on a cruise next week. I still need to do my time sheet. bleh.
I was peeved, man, peeved I tell ya!
