Holiday party ramblings

Friday night an old friend and coworker hosted her annual cookie party.  We didn't stay long, it's usually quite populated with landscape architects.  I didn't mingle well.  We had the lad with us which was probably a mistake.  This year they didn't have the video games set up for the kids and he was bored.  Shoulda found him a sleepover I think, LOL.

Saturday night my company had their party.  It was hosted at one of the partner's house.  It's a beautiful log cabin he built himself on five acres.  It has a wide porch and deck all the way around the house and a larger deck out back.  They hired a folk band for atmosphere and had it catered.  The band was great and played a great mix.  I asked them to play crazy mary b/c in between each song they tuned their guitars to the opening chords of it, or what reminded me of it (I've heard the opening chords of crazy mary more times than I can count, LOL).  The one guitarist perked up and said, Crazy Mary?! and I got excited, then he said, come on down here and sing it with us.  Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

I'm better at singing along than being a lead singer.  LOL

I declined.

The food was good and they provided lots of beer and wine.  I skipped the hay ride this year though.
