No wonder I felt industrious today, it's a full moon. For some reason, I always feel more productive around this time. Although ironically, if you start subscribing to beliefs about the moon phases, then you know it's best to start new projects on a new moon. What a quandary! Is it possible to have new moon ADD?
Speaking of my quirky cyclical nature, every two years I get into a collectible card game frenzy, usually focused on Magic: The Gathering. I can chart this based on what the latest set to come out was when I got back into it. At least I usually get back in when the game is doing interesting things, and I play online for free so I'm not wasting money on a bunch of cards I won't play with most of the time.
The current set is the Shards of Alara, about a world split into five separate planes focused on certain combinations of the mana color wheel. The white mana themed plane of Bant has a bunch of cards with the gameplay mechanic "Exalted", which occured to me is totally the Gurren Lagann mechanic. If only one of your creatures attacks, that one gets stronger based on the number of creatures you control with Exalted, including itself. In a sense, "believe in the you that believes in yourself." Or in a more general anime sense, it's the one guy out front in battle, with the rest of the cast playing cheerleader. The will of the community lending their power to the fighter. It's too bad they did the Japan-themed Magic set already, it would've been the perfect "GANBARE!" mechanic.
I think this parallel made more sense in my head as I scribbled it in my notebook while half-asleep the other night.
P.S.
An eBay auction for 30 Rock Season One approaches! Command? Not that I expect any of my price-savvy friends to buy it for what I'd like to get for it (the closer I can get to affording Retro Game Challenge the better), but I have to spam it anyway.
