Links!
Here's
a fascinating tale that helps explain why stores stopped accepting returns of video games, other than the usual reasons of returns acting like a rental.
Hey, I'm bored, so it's let's kick it into overdrive with YouTube link overdose time!
A Ukelele Orchestra tackling Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit -- this
version is a higher quality video and not cut off, but I rather like the other. Ukelele not your thing? (and why not?) How about versions by
Tori Amos or even
Paul Anka? (tan enough, Paul?) I'm sure you have not heard at least one of those. More ukelele!
A Zelda medley! More Zelda!
On a theremin!
On a violin and cello!
By a string quartet! Man, it's all too easy to bounce from video to video on YouTube, it's almost worse than getting lost in Wikipedia.
Speaking of falling down the rabbit hole, Microsoft released the
Lost Odyssey TV commercial, and it takes a tack similar to the
Gears of War ad, pairing footage with an unexpected song. They've got some great editors, making the game look infinitely more exciting than it
probably is, and they definitely get points for using
White Rabbit,
one of my favorite songs. Better choice than
anything else on the snoozeworthy soundtrack, I'd say.
And I'll leave you with an
unusual picture story. I almost wish it were animated, but it probably doesn't need it.
Oh, and how about a
cracked out song from No More Heroes?
