Shamless Self promotion X 2

Yep, I'm an lousy blogger.  I actually blog a bit on the Weight Watchers site, as it has the advantage of not being blocked by work.

But here's a drive by:

1 - VOTE FOR US!!

The Dig This Awards are up - http://digboston.com/experience/2011/10/dig-this-awards/

And we're nominated.  We're pretty psyched and we'd really like to win.  Vote once, vote often - but VOTE BEFORE midnight TOMORROW!!

2 - Hire me!

My company has (once again) become an extraordinarily unpleasant place to work.  At least this time, the technical work is interesting.  But the company is really treating it's people pitifully and I'm pissed enough to look for better opportunities.

So - if you know of an opening, let me know.  These days I'm a security architect, a leader of a team of developers or a professional services type person - I'm not a run of the mill, hands on everyday developer - I just haven't done that work recently.  I actually know a lot about Java architecture, but developing in it all day everday isn't what I'm looking for.

I'm not at all tied to defense, although I'm most seductive as a defense contractor cause I have the background, big time.  But I would prefer to stay a little close to security.

I'm scared at this - I don't mind saying - the last time I interviewed it was abysmal finding a job, and not because of scarcity, but because I had stopped being an every day developer and I didn't know what to do with myself.  Now I know, but I'm still gearing myself up for this to take a while.

I know I'm a catch - I'm smart, I am beloved by all levels - my people like me, my management likes me, and customers like me, and I really, really know this security stuff.... but I HATE selling, and that includes me.

The Wrathskellar went extremely well - we had a ton of fun, and it was a really, really good show.  If you didn't make it out - you missed it.  Thanks to all those who did!  It was excellent seeing you!

I particularly liked being 30 lbs and dropping lighter.  I made appreciably smaller costumes, and ended up doing an emergency tailoring session when we used stock costumes for a second evening show on Saturday at a private party.  I found myself fiendishly taking in too large hip belts and bras in a quite alarming fashion.

Really it helped all around - although I'm tired, I'm in better shape than most long shows.  And I didn't have a single day of trying to hide things I wish the audience couldn't see - it's so much easier to dance when you're not trying to hide all your fat!

So much more to say, but no energy to say it with - good night all!
