This story is not for those who are faint of heart...or have a weak stomach...

Event #1

Brian and I decided to go to a movie before a party Halloween night (Texas Chainsaw Massacaure kicks major ass). Anyways, we decided to go to the AMC downtown. (That's the one with like three floors of movies.)Anyways, we're on the second floor when I hear this wierd noise... I was about to make some smart ass comment about someone sounding like a dying dog when everyone rushed over to the edge that overlooked the escalators down below. Naturally curious, we did the same. There, one level down was a dog, screaming at the top of it's lungs because it's leg got caught in the escalator between the moving stairs and the top step and it was still running full bore. People were screaming and running trying to get someone to turn off the escalator all the while the dog is still stuck. Finally it gets shut off. That poor little dog was stuck there with it's mangled back leg in the stairs for about an hour while they tried to pry it out with everything from screwdrivers to scissors. It was one of the most terrible things I've ever seen. Finally they got the dog out by prying one of the stairs off and the dog was in shock and rushed off to the vet. Needless to say the gore in Texas Chainsaw was a little more realistic after an episode like that.

Event #2

Of course it's already snowing up here in Cheney and Brian and I were driving to down on this really windy back road that we're going to have to deal with all winter and we came upon a truck that had rolled and was stuck in a ditch along side of the road. We stopped but someone had already called for police and an ambulence. Luckily we got up there and the guy was alright save for a few bumps and bruises. He was driving one of those old steel indestructable trucks that never die (lucky for him). Anyways, being CPR and first aid certified, I'm sure as hell happy that my skills were not tested today.

Ah, life in Med Lake is never boring...
