you konw what i hate about france? the inefficiency of it all. i plan to do like 7 things in a given day and won't be able to do even one. i don't understand why, to use the photocopy, i have to have a photocopy card, for which i need a library card, for which i need a student card. why can't you jsut take my 10 cents????? seriously, i've been carrying around this one sheet of paper i need to photocopy for 2 weeks now...and why, at the student cafeteria, can't i just use my student card and have to get another student cafeteria debit card. and the debit card office only opens from 9-1 M-F. i have yet to be in the cafeteria. again, what is wrong with just cash???? and some teachers went on strike at one of the schools and then the following day, the students went on strike!?! i understand how people think this is just a stupid american mentality and the french just chill and relax but that really only works if you're french or are here for a long period of time. i want to get all these stupid little things done so i can actually go explore or whatever. i feel like i'm living in slow motion, while the world is just rushing by (well, my world of georgetown). i need to do a proposal by march 1 for senior thesis. the library has no internet and closes at 7. the internet cafe closes at 9. i need to research!!!!!!!! know what's scary? i actually dreamed about my Dean. it was a long dream, then i woke up, thought how strange it was, went back to sleep and continued to dream about him. i am losing it, aren't i? i have had a lot of very strange dreams.
in good news, i'm going to, from 16-23 to visit a friend in aix en provence!!! yay, southern weather. i really can't wait to see her and it will be so much fun. yup, actually enjoying france with someone i know. also, toni called me yesterday and brought to my attention my proximity to london (relatively speaking) and the massive amount of ballroom there and supdadance shoes. this makes me happy. i really wasn't planning at all to go to britain but now, this brings a goal, an aim to my aimless wandering in europe.
