Another Update...

I went and visited Silver at the auto body shop today, since the nasty weather pretty much killed any thoughts I had of going to Colorado Springs this week. Well below freezing temperatures, icy roads and the chance of more snow kept me close to home.

I spoke with Dr. Brian (something that the receptionist at Abra Auto Body came up with, since I keep reffering to Silver as my 'baby') and he took me back to show me what they had uncovered. I grabbed some pics, but you can see prertty much everything with this one shot:

You can see how wrinkled the silver radiator support is- this is the same piece that had an obvious buckle in the preivious set of pictures. The piece is larger than it looks when the vehicle is assembled, and as you can see it's FUBAR all the way across it. Yeouch!

You can also see the black fiberglass light and grill support, and see how it's broken on the driver's side, where it mounts to the radiator frame. That too, is going to be replaced. The skirting for the left-front wheel well is also in need of replacement.

We're waiting on parts (the bumper-cover and a few other things have arrived, but some of it hasn't, such as the radiator support) as well as the frame rack to be available. Apparently the measurement system on one rack went down, and the shop is scrambling to get it fixed. This leaves them with only one rack and more than 9 cars they need to put on it. Silver's 9th in line, right now. They also can't have the mechanical done until the frame has been measured and pulled.

The good news is that Dr. Brian said Silver is in no way totaled- not even close. He said the frame damage that causes a vehicle to be totaled is severe, and includes kinking, severe bends, twists, etc. Silver has none of these ailments, perhaps just a slight misalignment. This makes me happy. The sad news is that I probably won't get Silvs back before the end of the year. :<

In other news, I went to Best Buy after visiting my baby. Picked up Trans-Siberian Orchestra's album 'The Lost Christmas Eve', which has the 'Wizards in Winter' song on it, the one that's been made famous by the dancing Christmas lights WMV file that's been floating about. I wonder if TSO does any non-Christmas stuff, I like their style. Also picked up '24' Season 4 (What are you talking about? I'm not obsessed!) after we went to Wal-Mart, in a blizzard yesterday, just to get it, and Wal-Mart didn't have it. Beeches! That's OK, I managed to hit some sort of a wicked-assed deal, because I had a $20 Reward Zone gift certificate and used my card on this, when it was all said and done on the final bill I paid a whopping $30 for it. I paid less for the CD and the set than I would have for just the set at Wal-Mart. Eat that, Sam Walton!

Anyway, that's all for now, I think.
