In Which Allison is Explained.

Hello! I have been enjoying the wonderful rain here today as well as some beautiful weather that was actually a little but hot yesterday. Lately, I have been continuing to watch the Nerdfighter videos, and I must say that it as a great testament to all of geekdom and geeks who actually do something positive with their lives; instead of sitting around gaming consoles all day and causing your fat/weight ratio to rise.

For those of you who don't know, I have hosted a foreign exchange student this year and it has been a great expierence. It was different and a nice change to have a girl around my age in the house for once. I honestly do grow tired of talking about female things to my brother. I love my brother to death, but lets face it- he isn't a girl.

A friend of mine told me to put in my name into http://www.urbandictionary.com and find the top 3 definitions of it. Amazingly I found almost all of them somewhat accurate:

1. Allison 1953 up, 680 down
buy allison mugs, tshirts and magnets
A woman defined by brains, beauty, class, and membership in the upper echelons of society. Can usually be found wearing pearls or sorority letters.
"Allison, jeeves is bringing around the polo pony. In the meantime, would you like a hot toddy?"2. Allison 1424 up, 364 down
buy allison mugs, tshirts and magnets
coolest bitch on the block
any allison of west des moines
3. allison 947 up, 261 down
buy allison mugs, tshirts and magnets
A common english name with Anglo and Celtic origins meaning "truthful" or "honest".
So far, Allison has been good at living up to her name. Or she's just a really good liar...

Honestly I'm still shakey about #2 but I guess I will just deal.

Today I was watching a documentary titled "A State Of Mind" which outlined a year of two gymnasts who participate in the "Mass Games" in North Korea. I find this documentary extremely thought provoking and eye-opening. North Korea is one country that Americans know little to nothing about. North Koreans are extremely isolated and plan to keep it that way. Though I was astounded by the flexibility of these girls, Hyeon Son and Kim Son, I was even more amazed by the fact that they do all of thier gymnastics on concrete. For those who don't know, you DON'T do gymnastics routines on concrete unless you are a cheerleader. The amount of damage you can do to yourself if miscalculating a flip can be devistating and maybe even life threatening. I was not as angry with the North Koreans as I thought I would be through this movie. I know why they are choosing to be isolated and choose to be filled with military propoganda- it's because it is the only way that they feel safe.

I rate this documentary 8.5/10. I just wish that the film crew could outlined more on the girl's school life. I did find it captivating.

I hope to talk to you all soon and DFTBA.
